Heidfeld ready to go

The forthcoming Formula One season counts 18 events in 2008, therefore giving the teams one additional race to contest in comparison to last year's championship. However, with the disappearance of the United States Grand Prix, there will actually be two new destinations for the F1 circus in 2008.
Making its debut on the calendar, the Valencia Street Circuit in Spain will for the first time be hosting the Grand Prix of Europe on 24th August.
"On the one hand I really enjoy performing on street circuits because, very simply, they are more fun to drive," said BMW Sauber driver Nick Heidfeld.
"On the other hand, the risk factor is higher."
"The plans I have seen for Valencia look very interesting, but one can only really have a proper impression after having driven there," he added.
Another 2008 newcomer is Singapore's race, which brings an important novelty: on 28 September, the Grand Prix of Singapore is scheduled to become the very first night race in the history of Formula One.
"The night race in Singapore will certainly be something special," enthused Heidfeld.
"Without doubt I am a night person, so I am really looking forward to that event," he declared.
"The atmosphere in the grandstands is sure to be phenomenal."
