Problems on day three, but good pace from the old car
|
As ever, the unique STR squad have its own take - and rather brutally honest insight - on the third and final day of testing today at Jerez. The duo of Sebastian Vettel and Sebastien Bourdais recorded the sixth and eighth fastest times respectively.
The following is a press release from the squad...
Even though our team is named after a bull, we are not the sort to give you bullshit!
So, the honest truth is that this was not the best day of testing for us. The morning got off to a good start, in less windy conditions than the last two days and both drivers were happy with the performance of STR2B.
But then, French Seb was sidelined with a water leak which took a while to fix in the garage and German Seb had a clutch problem.
Once his car was fixed, Bourdais managed to fit in some long runs, while also working on the aero package and by the end of the day, he still managed to complete a good number of laps.
Vettel was less fortunate as he had a further problem, this time an electrical one, which cost him even more track time.
Scuderia Toro Rosso will be back in action at the Circuit de Catalunya, Barcelona from 25 to 27 February.
