Pitstop work for Nakajima today in Spain
|
While it rained for much of the morning today at Circuit de Catalunya, the Williams Toyota team had a busy day the Spanish Grand Prix circuit with Nico Rosberg, Kazuki Nakajima as well as Nico Hulkenberg in action.
Rosberg put on 97 laps of the 4.655km circuit today, 50 more than any other non-Williams runner, recording the sixth fastest time on a 1:31.963s.
Newly recruited tester Hulkenberg set the ninth fastest time on a 1:33.102s while Nakajima did not record a lap time as he focused on pit stop simulation work.
“We spent the whole morning practising pitstops with the race team and both race drivers today," explained Test Team Manager Dickie Stanford.
"We completed approximately 40 pitstops in total.
Nico Hulkenberg then took over from Kazuki in the afternoon and continued set-up work on the car while Nico ran through some systems checks."
"The wet conditions really played havoc with the session for the second day in succession but we’re expecting a drier day tomorrow," he added.
All three are scheduled to test again tomorrow.
