| Lewis Hamilton set the pace this morning with a best lap of 1:27.325s, 0.041s ahead of Felipe Massa. Kimi Raikkonen was fourth fastest less than two-tenths back with Fernando Alonso fourth. |

| Nico Rosberg was on good form again in his Williams Toyota as he set the fifth fastest time. He and the team will be hoping he can replicate the performance when it really counts. Nick Heidfeld and Robert Kubica were a solid sixth and seventh fastest for BMW Sauber. |

| Renault will be looking to make it into the top ten in qualifying. Giancarlo Fisichella and Heikki Kovalainen were eighth and tenth fastest this morning with Mark Webber in between in the Red Bull. With Toyota expected to show well, the battle for the mid-field positions will be as close as that at the front. |
