13:50:46 Welcome to F1-Live.com and coverage of the second practice session of the Belgian Grand Prix weekend.
13:52:07 Kimi Raikkonen dominated proceedings this morning in his Ferrari, recording a best lap of 1:47.339s from McLaren rivals Lewis Hamilton and Fernando Alonso who were over half a second adrift.
13:54:07 Felipe Massa meanwhile hit problems early on and was unable to complete a timed lap. Massa’s F2007 seemed to suffer a mechanical failure on his first timed lap and the Brazilian was unable to negotiate Rivage. He nosed the Ferrari gently into the tyres and that was the end of his session.
13:56:18 A number of drivers made gains late in the session on soft tyres including Nick Heidfeld and Nico Rosberg for BMW Sauber and Williams Toyota as they set the fourth and fifth fastest times. Robert Kubica was sixth fastest ahead of Alex Wurz, Jarno Trulli, Heikki Kovalainen and Jenson Button.
13:58:14 Tonio Liuzzi was another to have a troubled session as he went off at Rivage as well, this time due to driver error, and damaged the front left suspension on his Toro Rosso. Team-mate Sebastian Vettel was 16th fastest.
14:00:05 The second 90-minute practice session of the day is now under way.
14:00:23 Ralf Schumacher leads Alonso and Hamilton out of the pit lane.
14:00:55 Alonso slows and allows Hamilton to pass and then gets a tow through Eau Rouge.
14:01:22 Trulli, Kubica, Sutil, Vettel, Yamamoto, Wurz and others now on track.
14:02:36 Hamilton locks his front right into La Source.
14:03:01 Hamilton runs off track into Les Combes.
14:03:25 Kovalainen, Heidfeld, Rosberg and others on track.
14:04:08 Schumacher sets the initial pace but Alonso is faster...
14:04:21 Alonso moves fastest from Kubica, Trulli and Hamilton.
14:04:48 Raikkonen recorded a 1:47.339 this morning.
14:05:18 A number of drivers completing their first timed laps.
14:05:58 Heidfeld has moved second fastest to Alonso.
14:06:47 The McLaren duo run nose to tail on the track.
14:07:06 Alonso is catching Hamilton who just moved second fastest.
14:08:07 Alonso pits his McLaren. Felipe Massa is now on track after missing all of the morning session after his off.
14:08:26 Coulthard locks his rear brakes and gets into a big slide. He continues.
14:09:14 Trulli improves and is now fourth in his Toyota.
14:09:52 Fisichella, Davidson and Raikkonen yet to go out.
14:10:02 Massa is now on his first timed lap.
14:10:28 The early runners are now pitting after their first stint.
14:10:55 Massa's first lap moves him straight up to second position.
14:12:28 Massa continues to push hard. He has to get plenty of running completed in this session.
14:12:58 Liuzzi is currently eighth fastest as Massa moves P1 by a massive eight-tenths of a second.
14:13:39 Massa gets it a little wide in the bus stop chicane on that lap.

14:14:29 Raikkonen is now on track for the first time in this session.
14:14:55 Raikkonen starts his first timed lap.
14:15:24 Massa meanwhile has improved and is now over a second ahead of the field.
14:16:01 Fisichella and Davidson out for the first time.
14:16:54 Raikkonen's first lap is not that fast.
14:17:09 Heidfeld (4th) is back out in his BMW Sauber.
14:18:03 Yamamoto improves and is now ahead of Sutil in the Spyker battle.
14:18:26 Coulthard moves third fastest.

14:28:07 Hamilton slows on his out lap, but he is just looking for track position.
14:28:41 Hamilton now picks up the pace as he starts his timed lap.
14:29:18 Eau Rouge is now flat out with ease for most. The V8s are not as powerful as the V10s of the past.

14:30:34 Hamilton locks his front right into the bus stop but improves to fourth.
14:30:57 Button has spun his Honda at the same turn under braking.
14:32:06 Wurz gets himself off P22 with a slight improvement.
14:32:48 Hamilton has pitted. Alonso and Massa on track as Kubica finds time and moves fifth fastest.
14:33:34 Being such a long circuit at just over 7 KM, the gaps are larger between the drivers.
14:35:11 Alonso is on the soft tyre at the moment.
14:35:37 Massa is chipping away a little at Alosno's existing best lap.
14:36:08 Alonso improves his own best by two-tenths.

14:38:28 Fisichella has now moved ahead of his team-mate. Raikkonen is on track and is currently sixth.

14:40:35 Raikkonen pits as Massa regains the second spot.

14:48:25 Alex Wurz improves and is now firmly mid-field.
14:49:12 Alonso, Schumacher, Hamilton and Kubica on track amongst the front runners.
14:51:40 Jarno Trulli makes gains in the second Toyota and is now fourth fastest.
14:52:53 Heidfeld is back out on soft tyres.
14:53:57 The FIA has now released information now on why McLaren were fined 100 million dollars yesterday and docked all of its constructors' points.
14:55:22 But lets stay away from that for now and focus on the on track activity...
14:55:41 Alonso is on track and lapping close to his best lap, but not faster.
14:55:55 Coulthard pulls to a halt with a mechanical issue.
