13.30Welcome to F1-Live.com and our live coverage of the 44-lap Belgian Grand Prix. It is another sunny day at Spa Francorchamps and the race gets underway in 30 minutes.
13.32There were few surprises in qualifying yesterday with Kimi Raikkonen continuing to lead the field as he claimed the pole position in his Ferrari. Raikkonen is 18 points behind championship leader Lewis Hamilton but unless there are mechanical issues for his rivals, he is effectively out of championship contention. Raikkonen is not about to give up however as he chases his fourth win of the season.
13.32The cars are now leaving the pits to make their way around to the dummy grid.
13.34Felipe Massa starts second in his Ferrari. He is five points behind Raikkonen in the championship and needs the win or Ferrari may look to Raikkonen as the only real title contender. Massa was just a fraction slower than his team-mate yesterday and is also aiming for his fourth win of the season.
13.36Despite a spin on his first qualifying lap in Q3, Fernando Alonso did a good job to qualify his McLaren in the third position, less than a tenth behind Massa. With Hamilton starting a distant fourth, Alonso will be aiming to try and take the title lead today at Spa. Hamilton has a three point advantage over Alonso heading into this race and needs to halt Alonso’s recent momentum.
13.38Robert Kubica was fifth fastest in qualifying in his BMW Sauber, but an engine change penalty drops him to 14th on the grid. Giancarlo Fisichella was 11th fastest in qualifying, but an engine change after qualifying drops him to the back of the field. As Fisichella’s engine change was after qualifying and in Parc Ferme conditions, he drops to the back instead of ten position penalty.
13.40With Kubica out of the picture, Nico Rosberg starts a fine fifth in his Williams Toyota and will be looking to score solid points to move him up the championship order and ahead of team-mate Alex Wurz who starts a poor 15th.
13.42Nick Heidfeld starts sixth in his BMW Sauber. Usually Heidfeld has little competition in the race itself as the F1.07 is faster than its rivals, but not on the pace of McLaren or Ferrari. With Rosberg ahead of him, Heidfeld will be looking to make the pass and try and chase the front runners.
13.44Mark Webber starts seventh in his Red Bull Renault and has been running well all weekend long. The team has not scored any points since the European Grand Prix, so today is a good opportunity for the Australian racer.
13.46Jarno Trulli starts eighth in his Toyota. Recent races have seen the Italian veteran lose ground on the opening lap and never make any real progress after that point. With Schumacher starting tenth, the team desperately need points to add to the 12 scored so far this year. A good getaway is a must.
13.48Heikki Kovalainen starts ninth in his Renault and will be looking to extend his streak of lower-points paying results. Expect Kovalainen to start the race with a heavy fuel load and try to gain track position later in the race. Starting at the back, Fisichella is unlikely to be a factor.
13.49Ficihella seems to be starting from the pit lane rather than 22nd on the grid.
13.50David Coulthard starts 11th in the second Red Bull ahead of Jenson Button in the leading Honda. Tonio Liuzzi starts an excellent 13th in his Toro Rosso ahead of Kubica, Wurz and team-mate Sebastian Vettel.
13.52Towards the back, Rubens Barrichello starts 17th ahead of Takuma Sato, Adrian Sutil, Anthony Davidson, Sakon Yamamoto and Fisichella.
13.54Ahead of the Grand Prix, the GP2 cars were in action yesterday after qualifying and early this morning. It has to be said that the racing quality left an awful lot to be desired, so hopefully the F1 stars will be able to put on a better show!
13.56It is another sunny day. The drivers are all in the cars as the countdown continues. The circuit has had quite a few modifications since the last Grand Prix here in 2005. The ‘bus stop’ no longer resembles a bus stop, the starting straight is much wider and there are acres of tarmac run-off at various locations around the circuit.
13.58Most of the front runners are thought to be on a similar fuel strategy with perhaps Kovalainen (9th) gambling on a one-stop. The softer tyre seems pretty durable this weekend, so some may opt to start the race on the tyre rather than finish it.
13.59The engines are now firing up and the grid is being cleared.
14.00Kimi Raikkonen leads the way from the dummy grid as the formation lap is underway. Davidson is also starting from the pit lane.
14.00The front runners all seem to be on the harder tyre.
14.01It is a long lap and they will all be warming brakes and trying to keep up the tyre pressures.
14.03Raikkonen lines up on the pole position ahead of Massa, Alonso and Hamilton.

Lap 6Sutil is now ahead of Trulli who had been pushing to pass Coulthard.

Lap 18Heidfeld has yet to pit and now runs third.
Lap 18Sutil jumps across the grass at Les Combes.
Lap 19Heidfeld now pits his BMW Sauber.
Lap 19Kovalainen has yet to pit and Heidfeld has exited behind him.
Lap 19Coulthard has not pitted yet and he has Kubica all over the back of the Red Bull.
Lap 20Trulli and Sutil are stuck behind Wurz who is on a one stop it seems. This will compromise their race.
Lap 21Schumacher pits his Toyota from seventh.
Lap 22Kovalainen remains fifth, but has yet to stop. He has Heidfeld and Rosberg right behind him.
Lap 22Sato pits from 14th. He is having a better than expected race as the Super Aguri team has struggled this weekend. Now Wurz also pits.
Lap 23Kovalainen pits his Renault from fifth position.
Lap 23Kovalainen takes the soft tyre so that is now him set for the final half of the race. He exits behind Kubica.
Lap 24Barrichello (14th) runs off track but is able to continue.
Lap 24Hamilton remains three seconds behind Alonso. No change over the last few laps.
Lap 24A lonely race for Barrichello as he is ten seconds behind Schumacher and five seconds clear of Trulli.
Lap 25Wurz runs off track at Les Combes and allows one of the Spyker duo through.
Lap 25Button and Liuzzi pit from 11th and 12th.
Lap 25Coulthard (8th) is still keeping Kubica bahind him and has yet to pit.

Lap 36Wurz has pitted for a third time. He was running at the back in his Williams.
Lap 37It is a retirement for Wurz. A poor weekend from the Austrian veteran.
Lap 37Hamilton still has not pitted. Were it not for the fact that he is on hard tyres, it would look like a one stop. Hamilton is now just a second behind Raikkonen.
Lap 38Hamilton pits from second.
Lap 38Button is retiring with an engine issue. He was 12th.
Lap 38Kovalainen is trying to hold off Kubica for the final point.
