| Renault did a little Spanish showboating to set the second and third fastest times with Giancarlo Fisichella and Heikki Kovalainen, but by their own admission, this was with low fuel. Expect Renault to be in the lower top ten when it really counts. |

| Ferrari were not concerned with going for a lap time yesterday and concentrated on long runs with relatively heavy fuel loads. As a consequence, Felipe Massa and Kimi Raikkonen were fourth and sixth fastest respectively but critically, very fast on those long runs lap after lap. |

| Lewis Hamilton struggled on the longer runs yesterday, usually lapping around a second off the pace of Alonso and Raikkonen and on par with Giancarlo Fisichella. Hamilton has a good setup for qualifying, but it seems he has some work to do on the longer runs. He was fifth fastest yesterday. |
