| McLaren Mercedes have been the team to beat so far this weekend in practice with Lewis Hamilton leading Fernando Alonso in the final practice session this morning. Surprisingly Ferrari has yet to show real pace after dominating the tests here in Spain earlier in the month. |

| BMW Sauber showed a good turn of pace in the morning practice session with Robert Kubica setting the third fastest time just ahead of Nick Heidfeld. After a poor run in Bahrain, Kubica could use a good qualifying session this afternoon. |

| David Coulthard was a surprise in practice as he set the fifth fastest time. Coulthard has yet to make it into the top ten in qualifying so far this year, so he will be looking for a solid run this afternoon. |

| Ferrari showed consistent fast pace in the longer runs yesterday but has yet to show any real pace over a single lap. With modern Formula One qualifying is the key to a good result, so Massa and Raikkonen will be looking to take the battle to McLaren. |
