| Friday practice saw Fernando Alonso set the pace for McLaren Mercedes with a best time of 1:22.386s. It was however a bit of an inconclusive day as Ferrari dominated the morning running, but off the pace in the afternoon. |

| Kimi Raikkonen led the way in the first 90 minutes session with a time of 1:22.446s, a time that would stand as the second best of the day behind Alonso. In the afternoon he suffered a hydraulics issue and was a lowly eighth fastest. |

| Felipe Massa looked all at sea with his F2007 in the afternoon, after setting second in the morning. His time overall was good for third on the day as a whole on 1:22.590s. Lewis Hamilton, very very aggressive over the high kerbing, was fourth fastest on the day. Either way, it is another Ferrari and McLaren weekend ahead. |

| Behind, Giancarlo Fisichella set the third fastest time for Renault in the afternoon, from Robert Kubica and Nico Rosberg. Renault, BMW and Williams all seem closely matched in the battle of the best of the rest behind the leading four runners. |
