| 13.30 | Welcome to F1-Live.com and live coverage of the 60-lap European Grand Prix. It is windy, overcast but dry. |
| 13.32 | Kimi Raikkonen stormed to pole position yesterday in his Ferrari, recording a best lap two tenth quicker than his nearest rival Fernando Alonso. Raikkonen is chasing his third straight win this afternoon and his fourth of the season. |
| 13.34 | Alonso looked all set to claim the pole before a grassy moment mid lap lost him time, so to be just two-tenths slower than Raikkonen indicates he has the race pace to take the battle to Ferrari. |
| 13.36 | Felipe Massa has not looked particularly comfortable this weekend in his Ferrari and lines up in third position. It will be interesting to see if he can live with the pace of Raikkonen and Alonso. |
| 13.38 | Lewis Hamilton will be one to watch as he starts back in tenth position following his high speed crash yesterday afternoon. The FIA have given him the all clear to race, so he will be looking to move through the field and ensure his run of podium positions remains unbroken. |
| 13.40 | Hamilton’s gearbox and engine were undamaged in yesterday’s crash, so it has been a busy night as the team prepare the car for today’s race. |
| 13.42 | Nick Heidfeld starts in fourth position in his BMW Sauber with team-mate Robert Kubica close behind. The F1.07 does not have the pace to live with the fastest two teams, but Heidfeld and Kubica will be looking for another points haul – and more should one of the front runners slip up. |
| 13.44 | Mark Webber starts sixth in his Red Bull Renault and will be hoping for a reliable run in the so far unreliable RB3. With team-mate David Coulthard back in 20th position, Webber carries the hopes of points for the team this weekend. |
| 13.46 | Heikki Kovalainen was a solid seventh in qualifying in his Renault. He will be aiming to keep the BMW Sauber duo within reach while team-mate Fisichella will be looking to move up from his disappointing 13th position on the grid. |
| 13.48 | Jarno Trulli and Ralf Schumacher start eighth and ninth for Toyota. The duo will be hoping to convert a good qualifying run into points this weekend after a disastrous race day last time out at Silverstone. |
| 13.50 | Over at Williams Toyota, Nico Rosberg and Alex Wurz line up 11th and 12th. IN qualifying outside of the top ten, they have the option to play with their fuel loads a little more and may well opt for along first stint in order to try and gain track position as the race progresses. Point s will be tough however as the FW29 seems to be slipping behind it rival mid-field runners. |
| 13.52 | Honda used a one stop strategy to good effect at Silverstone and with Rubens Barrichello and Jenson Button starting 14th and 17th, they have little to lose by trying something a bit different. |
| 13.54 | For Super Aguri Honda, Toro Rosso Ferrari and Spyker Ferrari, the target is a clean race with no reliability issues or driver drama. Marcus Winkelhock is making his Grand Prix debut from the back of the pack. |
| 13.56 | It is currently dry at the circuit with a stiff breeze. There is a threat of rain this afternoon, but so far it is bone dry. |
| 13.58 | The drivers are all in the cars as the countdown procedure continues. Dark clouds are moving in... |
| 13.59 | The one minute siren sounds and the grid is being cleared. |
| 14.00 | Kimi Raikkonen leads the field from the dummy grid as the formation lap gets underway. |
| 14.00 | Hard tyres for every runner it seems. |
| 14.03 | Raikkonen, Alonso and the rest of the field take up position on the grid. There are some spots of rain.... |
| Lap 1 | The European Grand Prix is underway. |
| Lap 1 | Massa into second as the two BMW get together at turn two. |
| Lap 1 | Hamilton has a problem. Coulthard off and on. Some spots of rain. |
| Lap 1 | Rosberg and Barrichello touch. Barrichello off. It is raining. Rosberg spins. |
| Lap 1 | Raikkonen misses the chicane. They are pitting. |
| Lap 2 | Raikkonen slips out of the pit lane and has to do another lap. All pit but Raikkonen! |
| Lap 2 | A crazy start. They are all taking intermediate tyres. |
| Lap 2 | Heidfeld taking a new front wing. |
| Lap 2 | Raikkonen is making his way around the lap. So slow in the wet. Fisichella off and back on. |
| Lap 2 | Winkelhock is leading in the Spyker! |
| Lap 3 | Winkelhock started from the pits. |
| Lap 3 | Raikkonen has pitted. A mistake from him on lap one will be costly. |
| Lap 4 | Button off. He was fourth. |
| Lap 3 | A spyker and Hamilton also off an out. |
| Lap 4 | Four cars now off. The rain is coming dowen hard. No chance to turn in the wet. The inters cannot cope. |
| Lap 4 | Liuzzi now hits the tractor recovering the cars. Light contact. Some six or seven cars out at turn one. Winkelhock pits for full wets. |
| Lap 4 | The safety car is out. Phew.... |
| Lap 4 | Hamilton is craned away and he had kept the engine running so he can resume. |
| Lap 4 | The red flags are out the race is being stopped. |
| Lap 4 | Liuzzi, Speed, Rosberg, Sutil and Button seem to be out. |
| 14.15 | With the race halted until the rain passes over, the teams are now regrouping to see what they can salvage from the race! |
| 14.17 | So an incredible debut for Winkelhock so far. Starting from the pit lane with wets on before the rain started to fall, he led his first lap of his first Grand Prix on lap two. |
| 14.18 | The rain shower is passing. |
| 13.19 | Hamilton is a lap down in 17th. Amazing he is in the race at all after his first few laps. |
| 14.20 | Pole sitter Raikkonen is currently listed in seventh as the cars are brough back to the start finish straight. |
| 14.21 | There seems to be come confusion on the grid at the moment with cars out of position. |
| 14.22 | Winkelhock will lead at the restart. It will be a rolling start after a lap behind the safety car, so not a brand new race as was the case a few years ago. |
| 14.25 | The sun is out and the circuit is drying. More rain is predicted however. |
| 14.26 | The restart is scheduled for 14.35. |
| 14.30 | When the red flags are shown to halt a race, the result are taen back to the start of the last lap. That means, I think, that Hamilton will not be a lap down, but just at the back of the remaining cars. |
| 14.31 | A recap of the start. Massa made a good jump and moved second ahead of Alonso. Behind Heidfeld ran into team-mate Kubica and spun him around. |
| 14.32 | Start recap. Behind Rosberg hit the rear of Barrichello's Honda and then spun out. They all pitted for intermediate tyres bar Raikkonen who did one more lap. Then chaos at turn one as they all went off bringing out the red flag. |
| 14.34 | Spyker are gambling. Winkelhock on extreme wets hoping for more rain. |
| 14.35 | The parade lap - or the race as it is now back underway behind the safety car. |
| 14.36 | A lot of smoke from Wurz's Williams. |
| 14.36 | Track wet, but drying fast. More rain on the way though. |
| 14.38 | Another lap behind the safety car. |
| Lap 6 | Heidfeld pits and takes intermediate tyres from full wets. |
| Lap 6 | It seems that Hamilton is being classified a lap down. Not sure about that. |
| Lap 6 | Hamilton is now moving though the field as he is a lap down. He passes the safety car and will be trying to get to the back of the pack before the race real restarts. |
| Lap 7 | The safety car is still on track. Trulli pits and takes intermediate tyres. Now only Winkelhock on the full wets. |
| Lap 7 | Hamilton is pitting. |
| Lap 7 | Hamilton has taken dry tyres! |
| Lap 8 | The race is now back underway. |
| Lap 8 | Massa and Alonso move one two. |
| Lap 8 | Coulthard passes Webber and Winkelhock. |
| Lap 8 | Hamilton has spun but is back underway. |
| Lap 8 | Hamilton's gamble has not worked. Track too wet for dry tyres. |
| Lap 9 | Massa leads Alonso and Coulthard. |
| Lap 9 | Webber trying to pass Coulthard. Close but no contact. |
| Lap 9 | Raikkonen is all over the back of Kovalainen. |
| Lap 10 | Fisichella goes around the outside of Barrichello for position. Webber passes Coulthard into turn one. |
| Lap 10 | Hamilton is flat last and 10s a lap off the pace on the dry tyres. |
| Lap 11 | Winkelhock is slipping towards the back of the field. The gamble on full wets does not work. |
| Lap 11 | Hamilton now close to the pace as the circuit gets towards dry tyre conditions. |
| Lap 11 | Soon they will all go for dry tyres. |
| Lap 12 | Raikkonen and Wurz are pitting for dry tyres. |
| Lap 12 | Out front Massa leads Alonso by a second with Webber close behind. |
| Lap 13 | Massa and Alonso pit nose to tail. Webber, Kovalainen also pit. |
| Lap 13 | Coulthard did not pit. |
| Lap 13 | Nearly everyone has pitted. Webber runs wide into turn one and loses a position to Heidfeld. |
| Lap 14 | Coulthard pits. Hamilton nearly hit him as he dived for the pits. |
| Lap 14 | Heidfeld now pits as well. |
| Lap 14 | Coulthard has Kubica and Schumacher right behind. A close battle. Behind Heidfeld is defending from one of the Renault drivers. |
| Lap 15 | Winkelhock pulls off with a mechanical problem on the Spyker. |
| Lap 15 | Hamilton is still flat last but closing fast on the back of the pack. |
| Lap 16 | Massa leads Alonso, Raikkonen and Webber. Alex Wurz is fifth ahead of Kovalainen and Coulthard. |
| Lap 17 | Kovalainen is pushing hard and trying to find a way ahead of Wurz. |
| Lap 19 | Kovalainen passes Wurz into turn one |
| Lap 20 | Ralf Schumacher off and into the gravel at the final turn. He was hit by Heidfeld. |
| Lap 21 | A busy race from Heidfeld as that is the second driver he has hit so far today. |
| Lap 21 | Takuma Sato (13th) has stopped with a problem. |
| Lap 21 | Kovalainen is now right on the back of Webber and lookinf for a way through. |
| Lap 22 | Heidfeld waves at Schumacher at the final turn. Saying sorry it seems. |
| Lap 23 | Out front and Raikkonen is closing in on Alonso. |
| Lap 24 | The main battles at the moment are Alonso and Raikkonen for second and Kovalainen and Webber for fourth. |
| Lap 25 | Hamilton remains the fastest man on track but still a long way behind Trulli who is 13th. |
| Lap 26 | Massa now has the lead up to nearly five seconds. |
| Lap 27 | Kovalainen is still right behind Webber but cannot find a way ahead. |
| Lap 28 | Barrichello's rain light seems to be falling off. He is 11th. |
| Lap 28 | Kovalainen pits his Renault from fifth position. |
| Lap 28 | Kovalainen exits the pits behind team-mate Fisichella. |
| Lap 29 | Coulthard has Kubica, Heidfeld and Fisichella right behind him, but he is keeping the position. |
| Lap 29 | Massa is pulling out a little on each lap. He is pushing so he must be getting ready to stop. |
| Lap 31 | Fisichella pits from ninth position. |
| Lap 33 | Alonso has increased his pace and stabalised the gap to Massa. |
| Lap 33 | Hamilton is right on Fisichella. A good battle into turn one. No change in the order. |
| Lap 34 | Hamilton makes an agressive pass to move ahead of Fisichella. |
| Lap 35 | Hamilton very brave to make a pass around the outside in turn 11. |
| Lap 35 | Raikkonen slows... |
| Lap 35 | Raikkonen has a problem and is coasting. |

| Lap 38 | Hamilton passes Trulli into turn one. Wurz pits from fourth. |
| Lap 38 | Heidfeld pits from seventh position. |

| Lap 40 | Kubica pits from fifth position. |
| Lap 40 | Kubica exits just ahead of Heidfeld. |
| Lap 41 | Hamilton all over Barrichello and will soon pass. |
| Lap 42 | Webber pits from third as Hamilton passes Barrichello into the first turn. |
| Lap 43 | Alonso is closing in a little on Massa. The gap has come down five second since the pit stops. |
| Lap 44 | Interesting to note that Massa is not far behind Hamilton and about to lap him, while the second McLaren of Alonso is closing in. |
| Lap 44 | Coulthard pits from third position. |
| Lap 46 | Hamilton backs off and allows race leader Massa though. |
| Lap 47 | There is some kind of black plastic cone on the track on the main straight. |
| Lap 47 | Massa almost hits that cone and has to take avoiding action. |
| Lap 48 | The cone is actually the right rear wheel cover from Fisichella's Renault. |
| Lap 49 | On track, Massa leads Hamilton who is a lap down. Alonso is in second position but runs behind Hamilton a few seconds back. |
| Lap 50 | Dark clouds overhead again. |
| Lap 50 | Kovalainen pits from fifth position. Odd. He is on inters! |
| Lap 50 | Kovalainen is really gambling. No rain yet and he is going for the win from P5. |
| Lap 51 | A strange move from Renault. There is no rain as Fisichella passes with ease. |
| Lap 52 | It is now raining on some parts of the track. |
| Lap 53 | Davidson pits his Super Aguri Honda. |
| Lap 53 | They are all coming in at the end of this lap for intermediate tyres. |

| Lap 60 | Webber holds Wurz off to take third position from Wurz ahead of Coulthard, Heidfeld, Kubica and Kovalainen. |
| Lap 60 | Hamilton took ninth position, so no points after a great drive. His championship lead is slashed to two points ahead of Alonso. |
